I think that what you said was very reasonable. But, what about this? suppose you composed a catchier post title? I mean, I don't wish to tell you how to run your blog, however suppose you added a post title that makes people desire more? I mean %BLOG_TITLE% is a little plain. You might look at Yahoo's front page and see how they create post headlines to grab people to open the links. You might add a related video or a related picture or two to get readers excited about what you've written. Just my opinion, it might bring your posts a little livelier.
